Virtual Currency, In‑App Purchases & Refunds

This page explains optional purchases in StokedToPlay, how virtual currency/items work, and how refunds are handled in Australia (including under the Australian Consumer Law).

1) Optional purchases

StokedToPlay may offer optional in‑app purchases such as virtual currency (e.g., “Coins”), consumables, non‑consumable items, and/or subscriptions. Core functionality may be available without purchase unless stated in-app.

2) Virtual currency & virtual items

  • Virtual currency/items are licensed for use in the app only and have no real‑world monetary value.
  • They are not legal tender, are non‑transferable, and cannot be sold, gifted, exchanged, or cashed out.
  • Availability, features, and pricing may change over time; we may also limit quantities or suspend items to protect the service.
  • If your account is closed or access is terminated in line with our terms, unused virtual currency/items may be forfeited (subject to any rights you may have under applicable law).

3) Pricing, taxes & authorisation

  • Prices are shown at checkout in the relevant store or payment flow and may include GST where applicable.
  • In‑app purchases on iOS and Android are typically processed by Apple or Google (your transaction is also subject to their terms and billing rules).
  • You are responsible for keeping your device/account secure. If you enable password prompts, biometrics, or other purchase controls, you should use them.
  • If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent/guardian to make purchases.

4) Subscriptions (if offered)

If we offer subscriptions, they may auto‑renew unless cancelled through your app store account settings before the renewal date. Access may continue until the end of the paid period.

5) Refunds & Australian Consumer Law

  • App store purchases: Refund requests are handled by the store you purchased from (e.g., Apple App Store / Google Play) under their policies. We can help you locate transaction details, but we may not be able to issue store refunds directly.
  • Direct purchases (if available): Contact us using the details below with your receipt and the reason for the request.
  • Your rights: Nothing in this page excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Where a consumer guarantee applies and a remedy is required, we will provide it in line with the ACL (for example, a repair, replacement, or refund depending on the circumstances).
  • Change of mind refunds for digital items may not be available where permitted by law and platform rules, especially if the content has been consumed, credited, or used.

6) Chargebacks and payment disputes

If a chargeback or payment reversal is filed, we may investigate and may suspend access to purchases, virtual currency/items, or your account while the dispute is resolved. If a chargeback is confirmed, we may remove credited virtual items/currency and take steps to recover losses where allowed by law.
